Approve evidence, not assumptions.
Use this checklist to confirm an order-specific product specification.
Each item should point to a physical sample, drawing, material record, test method or approved artwork. Evidence is confirmed for the exact product and order; a category claim alone is not enough.

BUYER QUESTIONS / DIRECT ANSWERS
Questions to settle before you approve the order.
Use these answers to turn a broad sourcing discussion into a product-specific brief, quotation and approval record.
What can be customized on a private label dog bed?
A private-label dog bed can be customized by size, cover fabric, color, fill material and weight, insert construction, removable panels, zipper details, labels, logo, compression pack and retail packaging. Every size should have its own specification because fill, recovery and packed volume do not scale automatically.
What does washable mean for a dog bed?
“Washable” should identify exactly what can be washed, by which cycle, temperature and drying method, and what pass criteria apply afterward. A removable cover may be machine washable while the insert is not. Link the claim to the approved construction and review dimensional change, appearance, seams and zipper function.
How should fill weight be recorded for reorders?
Record fill weight for each size and each separate chamber or insert, using an agreed tolerance and weighing method. Keep it in the production specification and inspection record. Descriptions such as plush or thick cannot control a reorder, while fill weight can be checked against the approved sample and purchase order.
Why do packed dimensions matter for dog bed freight?
Packed dimensions determine carton cube and therefore can materially affect freight and storage cost, especially for bulky beds. Record compressed unit dimensions, units per carton, carton dimensions, gross weight and recovery method before comparing quotations. A low unit price can be offset by inefficient packing volume.
Which parts should be removable or replaceable?
Parts that receive the most wear or make cleaning difficult should be considered for removal or replacement, commonly the cover, cushion insert, bolster insert or waterproof liner. The design must prevent incorrect assembly and expose no unsafe fasteners. Confirm each component, closure and care instruction on the sample.
How should a compressed bed recover after unpacking?
Review recovery using the actual production packing method and an agreed time after unpacking. Measure finished dimensions, loft distribution, lumps, seam distortion and whether the bed returns to the approved shape. Because materials and sizes recover differently, the method and acceptance limit should be written for each SKU.
